朋友一人獨佔一間公子號 (Ocean Princess) 頭等艙位，８日到Venice, 9 日登船。以下是這老傢伙發的 e-mail, 當作兩位未來 Venice 登船的經驗好了: 11/08 [Sat] Arriving Venice 5:30 am. Slight rain. Got to the booked hotel which was only minutes away by walking. Hotel room will be available noon. I used the morning hours to walk near the Grand Canal and afterward read and sent emails using the hotel wifi. Got hotel room at noon. Light meal. At 15:30 started to walk to St Mark‘s Square and the Rialto Bridge, taking many pictures on the way. After 3 hrs return and bought food for dinner in hotel room to avoid wasting time sitting in outdoor restaurants. My symptoms not turning worse since starting the trip, and I kept up with the MG medicine and Rilutek. Fell to sleep early around 21:00 as I had not rested in bed (only in airplane and night train seats) since leaving Beijing hotel two days earlier. 11/09 [Sun] 〜〜Spent morning writing travel diary and sending emails on Internet. 15:00 hotel called for a porter to move my suitcase by walking 1 km (including many steps on the new bridge) to People Mover where the porter left and I took the short train ride to the cruise terminal with all my baggage followed by a very long and tiring walk (more than 1 km, taking 20 minutes) inside to reach Ocean Princess. Went through embarkation in only a few minutes and entered ship cabin 4039 before 16:00, a beautiful spacious full ocean view cabin for me alone for the next 11 nights. Went to Panorama Buffet to have food and later had dinner there at 20:30. Ocean Princess is smaller ship with 640 passenger capacity and 300+ crew in which I cruised earlier in 2011 from Shanghai to ports in China and Japan. Cabin 4039 is a 30 second walk from the main reception desk and 1 minute walk from Club Restaurant (the formal dining room which I did not use until three days later, on Nov 12) located one deck above and about 1.5 minute by walking and taking the elevator to Panorama Buffet on level 9. So convenient for me and so impossible in another ship. After some hours of rest, I got up and started writing diary and compose emails (but not sent them) before midnight until 6 am next morning. Then I went to bed, woke up only an hour later. |
